Privacy Notice

This notice covers two things: (1) the Kanchito waitlist landing page, where we collect your email so we can notify you when the app launches, and (2) tournament event pages built on the Kanchito platform, where players sign up to register for a specific event (currently in beta).
Who's responsible
Kanchito is operated by M&N Studio LLC, d/b/a Kanchito, co-founded by Leo Maltos and An Nguyen.
Part 1: waitlist signups
What we collect
Your email address, submitted voluntarily when you join the waitlist, along with which signup form on the page you used and a campaign tag from the link if you arrived via one (so we can tell which channels, Instagram, TikTok and so on, are working). We also use Vercel Web Analytics on the page, which collects page views, referrers, and two click events. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you personally.
Why we collect it
Before launch, we'll send you a confirmation email. Once launched we will send you a notification that Kanchito is now available for public use. After that, we'll occasionally send milestone updates, things like pricing changes or major new features. You can unsubscribe from these at any time.
Data retention
We'll keep your information as long as you stay subscribed, through launch and for as long as we're sending milestone updates after that, until you unsubscribe. If launch hasn't happened within 18 months of your signup, we'll check in by email to confirm you still want to stay on the list before continuing to hold your information.
Part 2: tournament registration
What we collect
When you sign up for a tournament through a Kanchito event page, we collect the information the tournament director's form asks for. For a typical event, this includes your name, phone number, email address, position preference, and skill level. Some events may also ask which payment method you plan to use (e.g. Venmo, Cash App). We only record which method you selected, not any payment credentials or transaction data. Payment itself happens directly between you and the tournament director, outside of Kanchito; we don't process, store, or have visibility into the payment.
Your name and sign-up info may be public
Tournament rosters ("Who's playing") are visible to anyone who opens the event page. No account or login is required to view them. This typically includes your name and the position or category you signed up under. Don't submit information you don't want visible to anyone with the event link.
Why we collect it
To let the tournament director run the event: build pools and brackets, track who has registered against the spot limit, and coordinate the draw. Your info stays associated with that specific event.
Who can see it
The tournament director running the event can see everything you submit. The public roster (name plus position or category) is visible to anyone with the event link. We don't sell, rent, or share your registration information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data retention
We retain tournament registration data for as long as needed to run the event and for a reasonable period after (for the director's records and dispute resolution), after which it may be deleted. You can request earlier deletion at any time, see "Your rights" below.
Liability waivers
Kanchito does not collect or store liability waivers. Waivers, where required, are handled directly by the tournament director outside of the Kanchito platform (for example, a physical waiver signed in person on the day of the event). This notice covers information submitted through Kanchito only.
Children's privacy
Kanchito is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly allow minors to create tournament director accounts, and we do not knowingly allow minors to register as players through event pages. If we learn that we've collected information from a minor, we'll delete it. If you believe a minor has submitted information to Kanchito, please contact us at Leo@Kanchito.com.
Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but if you have concerns, reach out to Leo@Kanchito.com.
When we may share information beyond what's described above
Beyond the third-party tools listed above, we may disclose information if required to by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kanchito, our users, or the public.
If Kanchito is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of business assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If that happens, the notice covering your information will continue to apply until updated.
Third-party tools
We store waitlist and tournament signups using Supabase, a database and backend service, and use Vercel Web Analytics as described above. Waitlist emails (confirmation, launch announcement, milestone updates) are sent using Resend, an email delivery service. Your information is processed by each of these under their own respective privacy and security practices.
We use Sentry, an error monitoring service, to find and fix bugs. Sentry receives technical information about your visit: your browser, operating system and device model, the pages you opened, and the details of any error that occurred. On a sample of visits, Sentry also records a playback of the session, showing the layout of the page and where you tapped and scrolled. Sentry retains this information for 30 days.
What is written on the page is not included. Names, phone numbers and email addresses are replaced with asterisks in your browser before anything is sent, and nothing you type into a form is recorded. Only the app's own labels, such as the names of tabs and buttons, are readable. Sentry does not receive your name or your IP address.
Your information is processed by Sentry under their own privacy and security practices.
How to unsubscribe (waitlist)
The launch announcement and every milestone update after it will include a direct unsubscribe link. You can also email Leo@Kanchito.com at any time to be removed.
Your rights
You can ask what information we have about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted at any time. Email Leo@Kanchito.com and we'll take care of it directly. For tournament registrations, note that removing your info from an active event may affect your registered spot, we'll work with you and the tournament director on the details.
